Founder and Principal, Bandman Associates
Jeffrey Bandman is Founder and Principal of Bandman Advisors, a consulting practice focussed on innovation and regulation of financial services, with special expertise in financial technology and regulatory technology. He formerly served as the acting director of the clearing and risk division of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Bandman was the CFTC’s first fintech advisor and the Founding Director and architect of LabCFTC, the CFTC’s hub for engagement with fintech innovation—the first organisation of its kind for a U.S. market regulator. Bandman has worked for many years in the financial sector in New York and London, having advised the Future Industry Association on launching the SEF Tracker, championed development of the lauded SMART margin simulator, and rebuilt and managed Cantor Fitzgerald’s market data business in the wake of September 11, 2001.
Bandman graduated magna cum laude from Yale with honors in both History and English, and has a law degree from Stanford. He is a five-time Jeopardy! Champion and reached the Tournament of Champions semifinal.
