Lily Zechner is a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Tax and Fiscal Law, University of Graz, where she obtained her law degree in 2016. As a Ph.D. student, she has been doing research, inter alia, on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology from a tax law perspective. Zechner received a research grant for her masters’ thesis on legal requirements for businesses and consumers in the sharing economy (focusing on Airbnb and Uber). During her law studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Department of Austrian and International Private Law and a renowned law firm. She interned at the Austrian Embassy in Budapest and at the Washington, D.C. Office of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for several months each.
