About
Philippe Rixhon is a policy and systems engineer focusing on the value flows in content ecosystems and the technical feasibility of copyright policies. He is currently blueprinting a Copyright Infrastructure including technical approaches to solve Art. 15 and 17 of the Directive EU/2019/790.
Philippe holds a MSc in Engineering from the Catholic University of Louvain, a MSc in Management from Boston University and a MA in Theatre Directing from Middlesex University and the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts. He is an Honorary Doctor of Arts in recognition of outstanding contributions to performing arts creation, production and technology.
Philippe Rixhon Associates is an engineering firm working on digital rights and royalties with creative enterprises, digital service providers, industry trade bodies and government agencies. We are working on the technical feasibility of copyright policies with the European Commission, Intellectual Property Office (UK) and Open Music Initiative (USA). We are also designing Electronic Markets for Media Assets linked to a public and auditable Copyright Infrastructure. They will comply with the European Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market and rely on modules of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure.
