Matthias is a Technical Specialist in the FCA’s Innovate Department. He joined FCA Innovate in early 2016 to help establish the regulatory sandbox and has since facilitated DLT- and cryptoasset- based testing activities in payments and wholesale markets. Matthias authored the FCA’s Feedback statement on DLT and coordinates the wider policy approach on cryptoassets (as part of the UK Cryptoasset Taskforce). Matthias has got a legal background and prior to the FCA, built up expert knowledge in regulatory and financial law at the Austrian Financial Market Authority and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. As member of the Austrian Fintech Advisory Board he recommends FinTech policy measures to the Austrian Government.
