Dr Sid Kargupta is currently the CDO (Chief Data Officer) of Tata Digital, a Tata Sons initiative to integrate the Tata Group's most trusted Brands all into a single Super App platform. Sid is a veteran in the Tech and Data spaces with over 28 years of experience in the IT sector. He has excellent appreciation of businesses to align organisational technology and data strategies with the long term business strategies. He has built, led and managed data and technical teams, both on-shore and off-shore, and implemented strategic data and technology platforms for various organisations. He is an ardent researcher in science and technology, following current and future industry trends to ensure that the organisation’s technology is always kept abreast of the evolution and developments in the technology landscape of the industry. Sid has previously supervised and delivered mission critical programmes and projects for organisations including EMC, Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA), Lloyd’s TSB, Standard Corporate and Merchants Bank (SCMB), Citibank, EMI, Fannie Mae Foundation, Discovery Channel (Europe), British Library and the UK Government. Sid has received several professional accolades till date including Best Performer’s Award at SCMB, VAA and a medallion from the erstwhile Prime Minister of UK (Mr David Cameron) for an outstanding contribution in delivering a faultless Borders System for the London Olympics (2012). Sid holds a BE (Electrical), MSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Computer Science (UCL).
