Currently leads and advises DLT/Blockchain startups at Digital Catapult - UK's premier innovation lab. Previously, he founded Bertify, a startup that specialises in issuing and verifying of blockchain based secure digital credentials for healthcare workers. He is also a Subject Matter Expert for Oxford University's Blockchain Strategy Programme. Previously, he was the 'Head of Blockchain' at Plutus.it where he contributed to designing the industry's first mobile crypto-payment system linked to a decentralised exchange supporting the conversion of Ethereum Ethers and Bitcoins into fiat currencies which could then be spent on every day purchases. Prior to getting into the industry, he was a computer scientist at Open University's Knowledge Media Institute where he researched the use of blockchain protocols to address privacy in IoT systems, verify provenance of open datasets and mechanism for tamperproof data recorders for autonomous vehicles. As an associate lecturer at the Open University, he also tutored distant learners on data science, data structures and algorithms. He is a member of British Computer Society. He holds a PhD in Software Engineering from the Open University. He has several years of experience in working for large companies such as Accenture-Germany and Deutsche Post, he specialises in building secure business critical distributed applications.
